This was an Ottawa home inspection that shows an addition to the existing 1965 house. As can be seen where the flat roof converges with the sloping roof, this area of surface is vulnerable to leakage.  The snow and ice accumulate right at the corner where the gray membrane meets the black shingle, and infiltration is evident inside on the ceiling. More attention has to be paid to designing these additions such that water dispersion is quickly removed.
